Delhi Introduces ‘Weather Mood Alerts’ on Public Transport

Passengers receive notifications if the climate predicts existential dread.

Delhi Metro has unveiled “Weather Mood Alerts,” notifying commuters if the weather is likely to induce anxiety, irritation, or spontaneous philosophical thinking. As reported by NDTV, alerts are color-coded and delivered via mobile app and station displays.

“We realized temperature and humidity affect emotional stability,” said Metro official Dr. Priya Singh. “Now we can warn passengers before meltdowns occur.”

Commuters appreciate the guidance. “I got an alert about existential gloom,” said one rider, “and I prepared a motivational playlist just in time.” Psychologists say early data shows a decrease in public grumpiness by 22%, though some confusion persists when heat waves coincide with philosophical storms.

Critics argue the alerts may cause overthinking, but the government maintains it enhances mental preparedness. Plans are underway to expand the system to train conductors, bus drivers, and traffic lights.

Metro officials hope Delhi becomes the world’s first city to synchronize moods with climate, proving that emotional weather forecasting is both possible and necessary.
