Innovative program reduces human litigation stress and paper waste.
In a surprising legal innovation, Madhya Pradesh has begun training monkeys to deliver court summons. According to Hindustan Times, the Primate Process Service program aims to reduce stress on humans and promote environmental sustainability through decreased paper usage.
The monkeys are equipped with tiny backpacks containing envelopes and GPS trackers. They’ve shown remarkable punctuality and enthusiasm, said Chief Trainer Dr. Vinay Gupta. The only problem is occasionally eating the evidence.
Judges report improved efficiency and laughter in the courtroom, though some complain about the occasional banana peel on the judge’s bench. Citizens are amused and slightly alarmed to receive legal notices via furry messengers. One lawyer commented, I’ve never been intimidated by a monkey before, but now I am.
The program is already attracting attention from neighboring states, and there’s talk of franchising to speed up bureaucracy nationwide. Experts predict that if successful, monkeys could deliver everything from tax notices to wedding invitations.
Officials insist this is a step toward more efficient governance and public engagement, but skeptics warn that primates may unionize and demand hazard pay.
