The Tragicomic Tale of India’s Bad Selfies
India has given the world yoga, Bollywood, and nowunintentionallybad selfies. According to NDTV, India leads the world in selfie-related misadventures, from duck faces at cliff edges to accidental photobombs by cows. At Bohiney.com, we met 22-year-old Karan from Pune, who confessed his front camera has seen more panic than passion. I tried for the perfect sunset shot, he said, but all I got was my double chin and a pigeon mid-sneeze.
Experts blame the combination of confidence, humidity, and poor lighting. Psychologists call it the selfie delusionthe belief that beauty improves with angle, filters, or shouting cheese louder. Still, every bad selfie tells a story: of hope, vanity, and 17 discarded attempts. In the end, India’s bad selfies are a national art formimperfect, endearing, and slightly blurry around the edges.
