Local office worker’s morning routine now includes a genuine multi-step verification process before committing to any specific road
NEW DELHI Office worker Priya Malhotra has developed a three-app verification system she consults every single morning during monsoon season before committing to a specific commute route, a process she describes as “genuinely necessary at this point, given how quickly conditions can change between checking and actually leaving the house.”
The Three Apps, As Currently Deployed
A traffic congestion tracker, a dedicated waterlogging alert service, and a general weather app, each consulted in sequence before Malhotra finalizes her actual route, a process that itself now adds a genuine ten minutes to her morning routine.
Why She Developed This System
After several incidents of committing to a route that turned out to be flooded or gridlocked shortly after departure, Malhotra decided “checking properly beforehand beats getting stuck for an hour and finding out the hard way.”
How Often the System Actually Prevents Problems
By her own estimate, roughly seven times out of ten the extra verification genuinely saves her from a bad commute, a success rate she considers “worth the extra ten minutes, most days.”
What Happens on the Other Three Days
Even her careful system occasionally fails to predict rapidly changing conditions, she admits, noting monsoon flooding can develop “faster than any app update cycle can really keep pace with.”
Whether Colleagues Have Adopted a Similar Approach
Several have asked about her specific method, with at least two coworkers now following a similar multi-app verification routine, treating Malhotra’s system as “basically the office’s unofficial best practice for surviving monsoon commutes.” Further Delhi commuting coverage continues at bohiney.com.
