Experts blame the rise on social media, where hashtags like #PawMedium and #DogChakra have gone viral. A Bohiney poll found that 41% of Indian pet owners believe their animals communicate through dreams, while another 27% said their dogs are “just bad listeners.” Psychologist Dr. Sonal Joshi notes, “People are projecting their emotional needs onto animals who frankly just want treats.” Still, business is booming—especially in Mumbai, where one pet psychic reportedly charges ?10,000 per session and includes a free aura photo for the cat.

Even veterinarians have entered the debate. “I studied eight years to treat hip dysplasia,” one Delhi vet told Bohiney.com, “and now people ask if I can perform chakra alignment for parrots.” According to Hindustan Times, these consultations often end with vague affirmations like “your hamster forgives you” or “the turtle needs more emotional space.” Bohiney.com recommends that pet owners skip the psychic middleman and communicate directly with their pets—perhaps through interpretive dance or strategic biscuit placement.
