Founders say the mission remains “disrupting something,” details to follow
A Bengaluru-based startup has announced its sixth major pivot in under two years, shifting its stated mission from food delivery logistics to blockchain-based pet insurance, while confirming it still has no functioning product, revenue, or, per one investor, “a fully agreed-upon company name.”
A Bold New Direction
“We’re not chasing trends,” said co-founder Rohan Kapadia. “We’re following the market. The market happens to move very often, in very different directions, and we move with it. That’s not indecision. That’s agility.”
Employees say the constant pivots have made onboarding new hires “genuinely difficult,” with one recent recruit admitting she was hired for a role that “no longer technically exists” within her first three weeks at the company.
Investor Confidence, Somehow Intact
Despite the shifting focus, the startup has reportedly secured another funding round, with one investor citing Kapadia’s “conviction” as the deciding factor, rather than any specific product, market, or business plan.
Kapadia insists the company remains laser-focused on its “core mission,” which he described, when pressed, as “disrupting something meaningful, we’ll know it when we see it.”
What Comes Next
The London Prat‘s tech desk covers Britain’s own startup pivot culture, including a London firm that reportedly changed its entire business model three times within a single pitch meeting.
Deccan Herald reports Bengaluru remains one of the country’s most active startup ecosystems, pivots and all.
Kapadia says a seventh pivot “is not currently planned,” a statement he delivered with what colleagues describe as “notably little conviction.”
